Most Liked

Many customers rave about Hoi Bo's chicken rice, lauded for its aromatic rice and spicy garlic chili sauce. The friendly service from the lovely staff adds to the appeal, making every visit feel welcoming. Regulars mention the sizzling Japanese tofu as an entertaining dish to savor at the table, while the boxing chicken—crispy drummettes with sweet and sour sauce—adds a playful touch to meals. Generous servings and a variety of flavors ensure everyone finds a dish they love, with some applauding the fried squid as a standout compared to other dim sum places.

Most Disliked

Some patrons note the decor feels a bit dated, with older furniture and carpets, which might not impress those seeking a modern dining experience. While the food quality remains high, some diners wish for a wider selection of contemporary dishes. The popularity can lead to a bustling atmosphere during peak hours, especially on Sundays, which might deter diners looking for a quiet meal. A few have remarked on the occasional wait for food during crazy busy times, which may not suit those in a rush.

Have been coming here for lunch for years and the food is always fantastic, served by the lovely ladies that run the place. The chicken rice and mi goreng are our favs! The black bean beef is also great.

Hoi Bo is a local favorite for tasty Chinese classics in a casual, no-frills setting. While the decor is a bit dated with old furniture and carpets, the delicious food keeps regulars like us coming back. We enjoy the soy sauce chicken rice. It comes with aromatic rice, a flavorful garlic chili sauce, and a salted mustard soup - such a satisfying combo! The sizzling Japanese tofu is another must-try, both delicious and fun to watch as it sizzles at your table. The boxing chicken adds fun to our meal - crispy chicken drumlettes tossed in sweet and sour sauce, served with cute frilly colored paper decorations adding a whimsical touch. With generous portions and reasonable prices, Hoi Bo won't wow you with fancy decor but it delivers on tasty, comforting Chinese fare. The friendly service and convivial atmosphere make it a neighborhood gem for casual family dining. Definitely give it a try if you're in the area and craving some classic Chinese dishes done well.

Very good value. Chef is super quick and the food is always consistently good. Very good for Beef Kailan, Salt & Pepper Squid, Claypot Tow Foo, Salted Egg Prawns, Lemon Chicken, Prawn Omelette, Tooth Fish and Soft Shell Crab.

Lunch menu is of good value. Chicken noodle/rice, cheap and delicious. Fried squid is a highlight, better than many dimsum places.

Best chicken chow mein in Perth at a reasonable price. Nice owners. Eight next to Coventry Markets but across the road near Galleria. Not often busy but they're great.
